TOP 10 TOURIST DESTINATIONS
THE VIBE: Epic history and gritty nightlife.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: Start with the **Co-Cathedral**. It houses Caravaggio’s masterpiece "The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist"—it is dark, macabre, and incredibly intense; essentially a baroque painting for a metalhead.
THE NIGHTLIFE: Afterward, head to **Strait Street** (known as "The Gut"). Historically, this was where sailors and pirates partied. Today, it’s a cobblestoned street full of jazz bars, rock pubs, and live music venues. It’s much cooler and classier than the main clubbing district. You Also must visit **"The Pub"**. It was the favorite watering hole of actor Oliver Reed (a legendary hellraiser). It’s an old-school British pub with hundreds of photos on the walls, great ale, and a legendary rock 'n' roll spirit.
VALLETTA: St. John's Co-Cathedral & Strait Street

The Three Cities (Vittoriosa/Birgu)

THE VIBE: Ancient doom.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: This is an underground prehistoric burial chamber dating back to 4000 B.C. It is an UNESCO World Heritage site that is genuinely eerie. The acoustics are otherworldly. It feels like the dungeon of a fantasy album cover. **Note:** You need to book this weeks in advance as they only allow a few people in per day.
Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum
THE VIBE: Medieval fortress.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: Mdina is a fortified city on a hill with massive stone walls and narrow, winding alleys. It feels like stepping onto the set of *Game of Thrones* (it was actually used in *Game of Thrones* and *Gladiator*). It’s a great place to walk around at twilight with a camera and a drink in hand.

THE VIBE: The edge of the world.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: The highest point in Malta. There are no ropes or barriers; just open fields leading to a sheer 250-meter drop into the Mediterranean. It’s desolate, windy, and dramatic. There is a tiny chapel (St. Mary Magdalene) on the edge that looks incredibly isolated. A perfect spot to watch the sunset with a bottle of wine.
